Weekend Getaway at Greenspace Artist Village, Liwa Zambales
I came to Liwa for the first time 3 years ago. I went here with my friends to try out surfing as this was and still is one of my goals to achieve. Unfortunately, there were no waves to surf to, therefore we ended up just basking in the sun, stargazing and basically just had some fun with friends.
Years have passed by and I have come here so often, and more and more establishments have been put up here and yet I haven't got the chance to ever checked off one of my goals' list. I know this is not an excuse. If there's a will, there's a way..But don't be so judgemental. Probably next time..I know, I say this again and again...
Greenspace is the place for individuals who seek a place to rest the mind, space to create more ideas or simply to just relax far away from turmoil, the last one sounds exactly what I need every weekend.
Sometimes, you can just even play guitars or ukelele around the resort. They have it hanging in their dining area or kitchen, in which by the way, you can bring your own food and cook for yourself here. If you don't feel like cooking however, you can ask Karr, who is managing the resort, to include you in her daily meals and you will just need to pay her depending on the food she prepares.
Greenspace Artist Village goal is to create projects that will benefit travelers as well as locals. One of the popular project they have is the You-kelele Kids Zambales. This music group is volunteer-based and non-profit. If you're lucky, you may find them here practicing on weekends.
Their cottages is set-up in a bohemian style which I really love. Each cottage is owned by Karr's artist friends who are very supportive of her programs and advocacies that's why it has its distinctive decoration. Nevertheless, they are all cute.
Most of the time, even though it's quite hot and their rooms have no air con, I can sleep for hours and hours here, even better than in my own room.
Greenspace still has some on-going renovation. Karr has always new ideas in order to make Greenspace the perfect hang-outs for artists.
